“We are working on creating a hotline where military personnel can report their issues, including rights violations or misconduct by commanders,” Kozyr said in an interview with Ukrinform news agency.
“This will help us better understand the issues that may require legislative intervention.”
According to him, all reports will be thoroughly processed and referred to responsible bodies.
“There are situations that cannot be resolved at the committee level, especially when it involves violations of the law,” Kozyr added.
“We will collaborate with all necessary bodies to establish effective communication where it is currently lacking.”
The MP spoke about the value of obtaining information from multiple sources for an objective assessment of the situation in the military.
He further noted that future legislation that will regulate holding military command accountable for violations will be specific, considering the nuances of military service. He believes that the adoption of such a law will reduce the risk of abuse and increase the level of discipline in the army.
“Commanders, knowing their actions are under constant scrutiny, will take their responsibilities more seriously,” Kozyr concluded.
