The software was developed by the ministry’s Innovation Center. It automates the analysis of vast arrays of battlefield imagery captured by Ukrainian drones.
According to the ministry, the use of the AI platform enables operators to make faster and more efficient decisions, reducing the risk of human error associated with fatigue.
The Avengers toolkit has already been successfully integrated with the VEZHA streaming module of the DELTA battlefield awareness system.
“The Avengers platform, developed by the Ministry of Defense’s Innovation Center, is unique in the world for its volume of [analyzed] video data containing enemy equipment,” said Deputy Defense Minister Kateryna Chernohorenko.
“We continue to advance Avengers and other AI solutions to provide our military with an advantage. Moving forward, we plan to expand the platform’s cloud capabilities and integrate AI solutions into drones.”
The ministry added that the Innovation Center is continuously training the Avengers AI model on new data, which improve its ability to recognize the diverse Russian arsenal of military equipment in challenging conditions, such as tanks hidden in forests or infantry fighting vehicles on dirt roads.
