Founded in 2001, KSG Agro specializes in pig farming, crop production (operating 21,000 hectares of farmland), processing, flour production, and biofuel manufacturing. The company’s facilities are located in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts, and its co-owner is Serhii Kasyanov.
The complex will include:
- A solar power station (0.5 MW)
- An energy storage system (1 MWh)
- A gas cogeneration unit (0.8 MW), which will fully cover the energy needs of the pig farm in automatic mode.
“The energy complex project is expected to be implemented under the zero investment model proposed by EnergyInvest HUB,” the statement reads.
“This means that KSG Agro will not have to allocate significant capital for the construction of the solar station — external financial partners will provide the primary investments. This model will allow the agribusiness to access cheaper electricity and heat without major capital expenditures.”
The complex is set to be completed by the end of 2025, after which it will immediately begin operating automatically.
“The 1 MWh energy storage system will accumulate excess solar energy during the day, while the 0.8 MW gas cogeneration unit will generate power in the evening and at night or serve as a backup system," the company explained.
"The entire setup will be centrally managed via an Energy Management System (EMS). This energy complex will provide the enterprise with reliability and predictability in energy supply.”
Enhancing energy independence will also protect the company from disruptions in electricity supply, reducing operational risks.
In 2023, KSG Agro reduced losses by 31% to $1.2 million compared to 2022, while revenue grew by 16% to $18.9 million.
