Ukrainian air defenses shot down 46 of the 110 drones launched by Russia over Ukraine, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Telegram on Nov. 12.

During the night, Russian forces launched multiple attacks across Ukraine, including:

  • Two Kh-59/69 guided air missiles fired at Chernihiv from Russia’s Kursk Oblast
  • Guided aerial bomb strikes on the Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts
  • A total of 110 attack UAVs, including Shahed drones, launched from Russia’s Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Bryansk oblasts

Ukrainian air defenses, including anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, repelled the attacks.

Air defense systems (PPO) operated in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhya, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv oblasts. The Air Force reported that 60 drones were shot down across various oblasts of Ukraine, while two UAVs left Ukrainian airspace toward Belarus.

An air alert was declared in Kyiv and several other oblasts on the evening of November 11 and the night of November 12, as Ukrainian forces responded to the UAV threat. Russia also struck Zaporizhzhya with anti-aircraft missiles.
