Ukraine reports 180 frontline battles, heavy fighting in Pokrovsk

Ukraine’s military recorded 180 frontline clashes in 24 hours, with intense fighting on the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka fronts, repelling Russian assaults and killing 1,170 enemy troops, the General Staff reported on Telegram on May 4.

Russian forces launched two missile strikes, 55 airstrikes, 1,132 kamikaze drone attacks, and over 4,500 shelling incidents targeting Ukrainian positions and civilian areas.

Pokrovsk front

68 enemy assaults occurred across 15 areas, including Stara Mykolaivka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, and Andriyivka, with Ukrainian forces eliminating 36 Russian personnel, wounding 39, and destroying one vehicle, two motorcycles, and two drones.

Novopavlivka front

The Novopavlivka front saw 56 Russian attacks in areas like Kostiantynopil, Novoselka, and Bahatyr, with nine clashes ongoing and airstrikes hitting Novopole, Kamyshuvakha, Novodarivka and other settlements.

Other fronts

  • Kharkiv sector - three attacks were repelled, one is ongoing (near Vovchansk)
  • Kupyansk - five attacks near Zahryzove, Novoosynove, and Hlushkivka
  • Lyman - 12 attacks near Ridkodub, Torske, Yampolivka
  • Kramatorsk - six hostile attacks near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora
  • Toretsk - four attempts to break through, one combat engagement is ongoing
  • Huliaipole - air strikes on Malynivka and Huliaipole
  • Orikhiv - two firefights near Novodanylivka and Kamyanske
  • Prydniprovskyi - one attack was repelled
  • Kursk - 23 attacks were repelled, four air strikes were carried out, 233 attacks were made, including 10 from multiple rocket launchers.

No significant changes were recorded in other parts of the frontline.

According to updated figures, over the course of May 2-3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed:

  • 1,170 enemy troops
  • 48 artillery system
  • 126 unmanned aerial vehicles
  • 121 vehicles
