Police allege the suspect set the blaze “to put a person’s life at risk.” The fire was one of three separate incidents on May 11 and 12 that included a car fire, a blaze at a house entrance, and a fire at another residential address.
Roman Lavrynovich was arrested on May 13 and is now in custody. He is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 16.
Bethan David, head of the counterterrorism unit at the Crown Prosecution Service, said, “It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
Although Starmer and his family reside at 10 Downing Street, the prime minister retains a second home in north London. On May 12, a fire broke out at that property. The police later confirmed that no one was injured.
