Ukrainian cyber experts from the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense successfully attacked over 800 servers in Russia, destroying critical data and documents, according to NV’s informed source.

The HUR’s cyber operation lasted from Sept. 23 to Sept. 26. As a result, all documents and data stored on the affected servers were completely destroyed. The targeted servers belonged to military, administrative, and financial institutions that support Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

All data on the servers was deleted without the possibility of recovery, the source added.

Recently, military intelligence hackers also targeted the Russian federal certification center Osnovanie, which issues electronic digital signatures. Among the center's clients are Russian Helicopters, Alfa-Bank, Transneft Telecom, Transmashholding, and Silver of Magadan.

The cyber experts managed to destroy terabytes of important data on the company's servers and obtained a database of 1.5 million electronic digital signatures of entities that used the center's services.

The hackers plan to sell the obtained data and transfer the proceeds to support the needs of Ukraine's security and defense forces.
