Ukrainian drone forces hit four gas compressor stations in occupied Crimea

The Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck four gas compressor stations in occupied Crimea overnight on June 20, along with Russian logistics targets, commander Robert “Magyar” Brovdi said.

He said the following targets were hit:

  • A gas compressor station in Zhuravlivka, struck by the 9th Kairos Battalion of the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems, Magyar’s Birds.
  • A gas compressor station in Aromatne, struck by the 9th Kairos Battalion of the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems, Magyar’s Birds.
  • A gas compressor station in Kliuchi, struck by the 9th Kairos Battalion of the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems, Magyar’s Birds.
  • A gas compressor station in Lokhivka, struck by the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Center.
  • A road bridge over the Henichesk Strait in Henichesk, in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast, struck by the 427th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems, Rarog.
  • A fuel tanker in Chaplynka, in occupied Kherson Oblast, struck by the 20th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems, K-2.
  • Russian occupation logistics vehicles in Armyansk, Crimea, and two more in Chaplynka, struck by the 20th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems, K-2.

An air alert was declared in Crimea overnight on June 20. Sevastopol “Gov.” Mikhail Razvozhayev said Russian air defenses shot down five drones near the Northern Side, Balaklava and Cape Fiolent.

In addition, operators from the 413th Raid Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces struck facilities at the Hlibivske underground gas storage site near Dozorne on Tarkhankut overnight on June 19. It is the only gas storage facility on the peninsula.

On June 17, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said Ukrainian drones are effectively isolating occupied Crimea and that the peninsula could soon become an “island.”
