Ukrainian troops operating on the southern front have achieved a significant breakthrough around the village of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, according to a spokesperson for the Ukrainian military's General Staff, Andriy Kovaliov, on August 22.

"In the vicinity of Robotyne, a successful advance has been executed, and our forces are now securing the gained positions," Kovaliov said.

On August 18, CBS News, citing anonymous U.S. officials, reported that Ukrainian forces were making progress toward Tokmak. The settlement is located more than 20 kilometers to the south of Robotyne.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian military bloggers have both reported that Ukrainian forces have liberated Robotyne.

The department officially announced the liberation of another Ukrainian village, Urozhayne in Donetsk Oblast, on August 16.

Overall, in June, the Defense Forces reclaimed nine settlements in the south and east of Ukraine, and in July - Staromaiorske.
