The type of the helicopter and the place where it was shot down were not disclosed. In addition, the air force said air defenses had shot down 26 out of 28 Iranian-made Shahed kamikaze drones that Russia had fired at Ukraine in the early hours of July 11.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian invasion forces have lost around 235,000 troops, including 540 over the past day, according to the count kept by Ukrainian military’s General Staff, which was updated and posted on Facebook on July 11.
According to the General Staff, as of July 11, Russia's losses amounted to:

- tanks - 4,089 (+4) pieces,
- armored combat vehicles - 7,983 (+17),
- artillery systems - 4,385 (+4),
- multiple launch rocket systems - 672 (+4),
- air defense systems - 414 (+0),
- warplanes - 315 (+0),
- helicopters - 310 (+1),
- UAVs of the operational and tactical level - 3,693 (+7),
- cruise missiles - 1,271 (+0),
- warships/military boats - 18 (+0),
- motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 6,966 (+29),
- special equipment - 640 (+8).
In early June, Ukrainian forces launched a counter-offensive in the south and east of Ukraine, liberating occupied territories and consolidating their positions.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has said that the recent modest successes of Ukrainian forces on the front are only a preview of a much larger offensive that is to come.
