The 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade has denied recent claims by the DeepState military monitoring project regarding a breach in the Ukrainian defense line in the industrial zone of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast.

Officer Serhiy Tsekhotsky refuted the information on Nov. 20, stating on Radio Svoboda that the situation DeepState’s claim did not correspond to reality. He emphasized the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the area and the alignment of actions with assigned tasks.

“The situation is under the control of the operational command, under the control of the unit commanders,” Tsekhotsky said. “We will not disclose on the air that someone broke through, because, to put it mildly, this does not correspond to reality. And secondly, not to highlight this situation for the enemy.”

Russian invasion forces are attempting to encircle Avdiivka, with a focus on storming the industrial zone, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff said.

Vitaliy Barabash, the city’s military administration head, stated that despite the enemy’s efforts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to maintain their defense, inflicting significant losses.

Contrary to DeepState’s claims, U.S. think tank the Institute for the Study of War reported that there had been Ukrainian counter-attacks near Avdiivka, confirming advances made as of Nov. 19.
