Ukrainian forces eliminate 19 of 21 Russian drones overnight

Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down 19 of 21 Russian-launched Shahed kamikaze drones overnight on June 19, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk reported on Telegram on June 19.

The drones were launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia and Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian Air Force fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, and Defense Forces' mobile fire groups were engaged in countering the attack.

Ukrainian air defense forces managed to take out 19 drones over Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, and Lviv oblasts.

Nighttime drone attack on June 19

The Russian military launched several groups of Shahed attack drones from southern Ukraine overnight on June 19 - the country's West was the key target. 

The attack damaged a high-rise and an office buiding in Malekhiv village in Lviv Oblast, a 70-year-old security guard was injured.

Ukrainian air defense shot down all five Russian Shahed attack drones targeting Lviv Oblast overnight on June 19, Lviv Governor Maksym Kozytskyi reported.
