Reserve Major Oleksiy Hetman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, discussed the significance of the destroyed Seim River bridge in Kursk on Radio NV.

Hetman noted that targeting bridges hampers Russian logistics, forcing them to rely on less efficient methods like pontoons. He emphasized that continued destruction of key infrastructure will further disrupt Russian supply lines.

Hetman also commented on a video from Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk showing the bridge's destruction by airstrike. He suggested that the lack of effective Russian air defenses in Kursk Oblast indicates a potential weakness.

The bridge near Glushkovo, a vital supply route for Russian troops, was reportedly hit on Aug. 15, leading to local evacuations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed ongoing operations in Kursk Oblast, aimed at liberating Ukrainian border areas. As of Aug. 15, Ukrainian forces control 82 settlements in Kursk Oblast, including Sudzha, according to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.
