The Apache 90 fighters of the 81st OAeMBr battalion released a video showing the destruction of enemy forces.
In the footage, dated Sept. 12, the defenders referred to their weaponry as "real Ukrainian dragons" while targeting enemy warehouses and troop gatherings. The fighters did not disclose the location or date of the footage.
'Dragon' drones at the front
On Sept. 7, CNN reported that Ukrainian Defense Forces effectively used "dragon drones" to target Russian positions, which are designed to destroy enemy shelters and military equipment quickly.
These drones drop streams of thermite — a red-hot mixture of aluminum powder and iron oxide that burns at up to 2,200 degrees Celsius — over forested areas where enemy troops are hiding.
While thermite is legal under international law for military use, it cannot be used against civilians.
On Sept. 10, Valery Yakovenko, co-founder of DroneUA and unmanned technologies expert, told Radio NV that the technology, presented at a Las Vegas exhibition, sparked significant interest and discussion. Western visitors referred to it as "drakaris," noting not only its destructive power but also its psychological impact on enemy forces and its innovative nature. Yakovenko mentioned that such advancements often leave the world impressed by Ukraine's ingenuity.
