Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate will not comment on the causes of the explosions that damaged the Crimean Bridge in Russian-occupied Crimea overnight on July 17, Ukrainian military intelligence spokesperson Andriy Yusov said this morning.

“We can only quote the words of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, that ‘the Crimean Bridge is a needless construction there,’” Yusov said.

Traffic on the Crimean Bridge has been blocked since the early hours of the morning after the Kremlin-appointed puppet leader on the peninsula, Sergei Aksenov, declared an “extraordinary event.”

Meanwhile, Russian state media reported that there was possible damage to the bridge’s pillars.

On Oct. 8, 2022, a powerful blast also rocked the Crimean Bridge, which Russia uses to transfer armored vehicles and personnel to southern Ukraine. As a result, several of its pillars fell into the Kerch Strait.

The Kremlin regime accused Budanov of organizing sabotage. In turn, the Ukrainian intelligence denied these statements, calling them “delusional.”
