Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksii Honcharenko was added to the Myrotvorets database following a series of statements calling for “peace” and negotiations with Russia, according to a profile published on the website on Oct. 6.

Myrotvorets describes Honcharenko as a “professional provocateur” and a “political populist.” The website also says the lawmaker was added to its database over what it described as “deliberate, systematic actions aimed at demoralizing society and suppressing its will to resist Russian aggression,” as well as “systematic actions benefiting Russian fascist invaders and aimed at disrupting mobilization efforts in Ukraine.”

On Oct. 2, Oleksii Honcharenko published a series of posts on his Telegram channel in which he argued, among other things, that Ukraine “needs to negotiate with Russia.”

“Let’s negotiate about everything possible,” Honcharenko wrote.

In his view, an immediate peace agreement is impossible, but negotiations conducted “step by step,” beginning, for example, with an agreement to halt strikes on ports, could gradually lead to agreements on broader issues.

On Oct. 5, European Solidarity announced that Honcharenko had been expelled from its parliamentary faction.

“Oleksii Honcharenko’s public positions on ending the war and Ukraine’s future security architecture have diverged from the position of European Solidarity and its ideological principles,” the party said in a statement.

European Solidarity stressed that the decision did not erase years of working together but said party unity could not be merely a formality when fundamental disagreements exist over the country’s future.
