The Ministry of Defense has proposed amendments to military service regulations that would allow contract soldiers and conscripts aged 18 to 24 to attend higher education institutions.
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the changes, and the document will soon be sent to the Ukrainian President for signature.
To continue their studies, servicemembers must obtain permission from their formation commander or higher command. The decision will be formalized through an order issued by the military unit.
“This is especially important for those joining under the Contract 18–24 project. These servicemembers will have the chance not only to serve but also to study, develop professional skills, and prepare for careers both in the military and civilian sectors,” said Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
