Ukrainian special forces capture three Russian troops and rescue fawn during raid

Ukrainian special operations forces rescued a young deer from a dangerous area after encountering the animal during an operation near Russian troops, the Special Operations Forces Command said on Aug. 15.

The operation was carried out by troops from the 6th Ranger Regiment of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, who infiltrated enemy positions on one sector of the front.

After locating a shelter used by Russian troops, the Ukrainian soldiers offered them a chance to surrender, but they refused.

In the ensuing clash, one Russian soldier was killed and three others were captured alive. Ukrainian troops also seized enemy weapons, communications equipment and documents.

On Aug. 4, Special Operations Forces troops located and captured two sleeping Russian soldiers who were hiding in prepared shelters. The soldiers woke up to find Ukrainian troops pointing weapons at them.

On July 20, the 225th Separate Assault Regiment said it had captured 64 Russian soldiers who had tried to infiltrate behind Ukrainian positions in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
