Video shows aftermath of suspected Ukrainian missile strike on Russian command post in Kursk

Footage allegedly showing a missile strike on the command post of Russia's Kursk forces appeared online, shared by Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov on Dec. 31, who said it was filmed in Lgov, Kursk Oblast.

Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov said the strike hit its target in Lgov, Kursk Oblast.

In the video, the narrator describes significant damage, saying, “A fire has started. The guys are all in the bunker; there are a lot of people.”

That evening, Kursk's acting governor, Alexander Khinshtein, reported shelling in Lgov.

Russian Telegram channel Mash claimed Ukraine launched five HIMARS missiles at the region, with four intercepted and one downed over Lgov.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces Strategic Command reported a December 25 strike on the 810th Marine Brigade's command post in Lgov.
