Ukrainians abroad should return and help defend their country – FM Kuleba

Kuleba added that Ukraine is grateful to Ireland and its people for providing refuge to more than 100,000 Ukrainians and for tens of millions of euros in humanitarian aid.

At the same time, due to the population outflow, Ukraine has a harder time replenishing its defense forces and supporting the economy while fending off a much larger enemy "which seems to have a constant flow of new recruits from the poorest regions and is converting its industry to a war footing."

“We respect the individual choice of every person, but we also call on all Ukrainians who have left the country since the beginning of the full-scale invasion to consider the option of returning home...,” said Kuleba.

“We understand that some people might not have this choice due to health or other personal issues. But those who do have a choice can come back and help Ukraine fight and survive with their direct personal contribution.”
