“You generated 90,000+ weapon permits on Diia in 8 hours! Superspeed, as always," Fedorov wrote on Telegram.
On March 10, the digital firearm permit became available in the Diia app. According to Fedorov, permit holders can generate an electronic document containing all the required information to replace the paper booklet, which previously required manual entries. When the permit is about to expire, owners will receive a notification and can renew it online through the Interior Ministry’s website.
To obtain the electronic permit, users need to update the Diia app and generate the document in the Documents section—provided the weapon is registered in the Unified Firearms Register.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said the Unified Firearm Register will continue to operate as usual, so citizens can still apply for permits through the pre-existing “analog” channels.
