The term of the last independent board member, Gary John Carroll, expired after three years in office.
Another independent supervisory board member and its chairman, Ihor Mitiukov, died on April 7, 2026. Other board members appointed in 2023 had resigned earlier.
The supervisory board now consists of two state representatives: Oleksandr Yarema and Iryna Chala, both appointed in 2025.
Ukrposhta is one of Ukraine’s largest state-owned enterprises. The company operates more than 4,600 stationary branches and 1,900 mobile branches, covering around 26,000 service points across the country, excluding temporarily occupied territories and combat zones, and employs approximately 25,000 people.
Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine responded to accusations from Ukrposhta about alleged interference in the company’s independent supervisory board activities by stating that the postal operator lacked proper corporate governance, internal control and risk management systems.
The National Bank stressed that establishing a functional supervisory board for Ukrposhta was critically necessary.
Ukraine’s Economy Ministry announced a competition on March 30, 2026, to select five independent members for Ukrposhta’s supervisory board.
