"Territorial integrity is part of our values," Umerov said at a press conference in Oslo.
Responding to a question about Ukraine shifting its focus in the war, the minister called it a lie and part of Russian propaganda.
"Our priority remains protecting people, safeguarding the nation, and liberating those under nearly 10 years of temporary occupation, which is why Crimea and Donbas are part of Ukraine," he emphasized.
Umerov also added that people in Russian-occupied territories are waiting for liberation.
On Nov. 14, The New York Times reported that Ukraine's authorities now prioritize security guarantees over the return of territories, despite consistent statements rejecting territorial concessions.
Journalists pointed out that Donald Trump advocates for speeding up negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow.
Sources cited in the article suggest that the protection of Ukraine’s interests in potential negotiations "will depend not on territorial borders, which may be determined by ongoing hostilities," but on the guarantees in place for a ceasefire.
