Russian forces launch drone attack on UN aid vehicles in Kherson

Updated at 1:20 p.m.: Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Russian forces launched two FPV drone attacks on vehicles belonging to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

He noted that the Russians were fully aware of whose vehicles they were attacking, seeing as the mission chief and eight other UN staff members were in the cars at the time. The president added that no one was injured, and all personnel were evacuated. 

“In violation of international laws, the Russians used a drone to attack humanitarian mission vehicles in Kherson's Korabelnyi district,” Prokudin said.

Prokudin noted that “these terrorists continue to fight even against those who help others.”

On May 2, Russian forces struck a minibus in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a drone, killing two people and injuring ten. Among the injured were passengers and utility workers, most of whom were hospitalized with mine-explosive injuries and concussions.
