"Negotiations will begin this week," said Miller.
According to him, the initial phase of the negotiations will take place in an online format.
The United States will be represented by a Deputy Secretary of State. Miller noted that these consultations are about future guarantees and do not relate to the military assistance that the Washington is already providing to Ukraine.
On July 12, the leaders of G7 countries announced a series of bilateral security guarantees for Ukraine. The text of the document states that the G7 leaders confirmed their commitment to a free, independent, democratic, and sovereign Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and emphasized that Ukraine's security is an integral part of the security of the Euro-Atlantic region. They promised to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression as much as necessary.
Each G7 country will work with Ukraine on specific bilateral obligations to Ukraine, focusing on empowering Kyiv and its armed forces to deter any future Russian armed aggression after the ongoing war is over.
