The U.S. is preparing for the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine to last beyond U.S. PresidentJoe Biden's first term, Taras Berezovets, a political scientist and officer of the I. Bohun special brigade, said in an interview with Radio NV in an interview on Aug. 25.

Berezovets speculated that the U.S. and certain Western allies, informed by intelligence, have concluded that the conflict will not end any time soon.

Jake Sullivan, an influential adviser in Biden's administration, is currently expressing sentiments that imply the United States is prepared for a long-term commitment, Berezovets noted.

"They understand this entirely,” Berezovets explained.

“And they understand that this war might not end during President Biden's first term. It could extend into the next term, whether it's President Biden or his successor.”

He further emphasized that Ukraine needs to invest in its defense industry to secure victory in the war.

In an interview with NV Radio on July 6, Taras Chmut, who runs one of Ukraine’s most prominent NGOs, Come Back Alive, speculated the war in Ukraine could persist for 20-30 years.

On Aug. 15, Iryna Vereshchuk, Ukraine’s Reintegration Minister, stated that the road to victory in the war would be long and challenging, urging Ukrainians to brace themselves for a prolonged struggle.
