Some of the pledged deliveries of military aid from Ukraine’s Western
partners are behind schedule, particularly when it comes to air defense assets,
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sept. 18.
In his evening video address, the president said that some of the anti-air systems Ukraine was promised at the Washington NATO Summit in July are yet to be delivered.
Zelenskyy noted that active negotiations with international partners on future military aid packages are ongoing.
“We have clear tasks regarding the equipping of brigades — this includes equipment and training,” said Zelenskyy.
“Not all promises regarding air defense systems made at the Washington summit have been fully met.”
The president emphasized the need for Ukraine to bolster its missile defense in the face of sustained Russian air strikes and the coming winter.
