Russian attack damages Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University

Russia attacked Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv with drones on July 7, causing damage to the National University Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic in the city, according to the university’s social media posts.

The attack, involving Shahed strike drones, damaged university facilities. The third academic building sustained a direct hit, with the extent of the destruction still being assessed, though significant damage was confirmed.

The fourth academic building and dormitories No. 4 and No. 5 were also affected, with windows shattered and parts of the internal structures damaged.

Vehicles parked near the drone impact site on university grounds caught fire.  

No casualties were reported at the university during the attack.  

Multiple fires broke out across Zaporizhzhya, damaging residential buildings and the regional territorial recruitment center, with 11 people injured in the city.

Russian forces also struck Kharkiv, damaging residential buildings, the regional territorial recruitment center, and vehicles, with 16 people injured.
