“As always, a good conversation with Alex Stubb. We
coordinated positions ahead of meetings and talks this week. It is important
that cooperation in Europe remains strong, and there are now new opportunities
for cooperation,” Zelenskyy said on May 10.
Zelenskyy said he and Stubb also discussed the status of
diplomatic work with the United States.
The Ukrainian president said the combined effect of
sanctions against Russia and other forms of pressure appears to be producing
the needed results.
Stubb previously said there had been a split in the
transatlantic partnership. He said the global North is taking on the role of
defending the liberal world order, while “countries of the global West are
becoming more like the deal-oriented United States.”
