"As for China, they have not confirmed their presence at any level," he said.
"The United States is in contact with some states, encouraging them to participate in the Peace Summit. China, unfortunately, is working today to prevent countries from coming to the Peace Summit. There is a big difference between these two positions."
106 countries have confirmed their participation in the Global Peace Summit, according to Zelenskyy, who arrived in Singapore on June 1.
On May 31, Reuters reported, citing four sources familiar with the matter, that Beijing had rejected the invitation to attend the Global Peace Summit because of its conditions about Russia's participation and failure to meet "a fair discussion of all proposals."
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has not officially confirmed the information, but earlier a spokesperson for the ministry said that China supports a peace conference with equal participation of all parties.
The Global Peace Summit will take place in Switzerland on June 15-16. Russia will not attend.
Andriy Yermak, head of the President's Office, allowed for Russia’s participation in the Global Peace Summit, but not in the first inaugural meeting at the level of leaders. The Swiss Foreign Ministry stated that a peace process is "unthinkable" without Russia.
