Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is interested in additional energy supplies. Mozambique, in turn, is interested in Ukrainian experience and technologies to strengthen internal security and protect people from terror.
The leaders also discussed potential cooperation in digitalization and food security.
According to Zelenskyy, he and Shapo “agreed that our teams will work together.”
In November 2025, Naftogaz of Ukraine signed a memorandum on importing U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine via Greece.
Earlier, the Greek company Atlantic SEE LNG signed a long-term agreement with U.S. LNG producer Venture Global to purchase LNG from the United States. The import volume will amount to 0.7 billion cubic meters per year starting in 2030, with the contract lasting 20 years.
In December 2025, national energy regulators of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine approved two new routes for supplying natural gas to Ukraine.
These include Route 2 and Route 3 for transporting natural gas from Greece to Ukraine.
In February 2026, the Greek joint venture Atlantic SEE LNG Trade signed its first deal to supply LNG from the United States to Ukraine, with delivery scheduled for March.
It was reported that an LNG tanker from the United States would arrive at the Revithoussa terminal in Greece, after which the gas would be delivered to Naftogaz of Ukraine via pipeline through Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova.
The maximum supply volume could reach up to 100 million cubic meters, depending on the available capacity of the transmission system operators involved in the route.
In 2025, Russia carried out 229 attacks on the infrastructure of the Naftogaz Group.
Overall, since 2022, more than 1,700 weapons have been used against the group’s facilities, including missiles, drones and artillery, of which 1,399 were recorded in 2025, Naftogaz reported on Feb. 17, 2026.
It was emphasized that a direct consequence of the attacks was a loss of domestic production, forcing the company to import additional volumes of gas to ensure a stable heating season.
