Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law extending martial law and general
mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days, reads the note to bill No. 9532
posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, which was updated on Aug. 17.
Thus, the president extended martial law until Nov. 15. This is the eighth extension since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Martial law was declared in Ukraine after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, 2022. At the same time, a general mobilization was announced.
During general mobilization, all citizens of Ukraine who are liable for military service between the ages of 18 and 60 may be called up to the armed forces, unless they have legal grounds for a deferral or exclusion from the military register.
