Zelenskyy said Ukraine has delivered the proposal to Russia through U.S. mediation.
“If Russia is ready to stop strikes on our energy sector, we will be ready to respond in kind,” he said.
He added that Ukraine is working closely with U.S. partners to prepare documents to strengthen security guarantees.
“Security guarantees are the key to a real end of the war, to lasting peace, to the political and legal framework that will allow the conflict to be resolved and trust in the process to be restored,” the president said.
Zelenskyy also reiterated the importance of productive negotiations and said Ukraine continues intensive cooperation with the United States at multiple levels to advance the peace process.
On April 3, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s Easter ceasefire
proposal remained on the table. He said media reports suggested Russia was not
ready for a cease-fire and that Ukraine had passed the message via the United States.
