According to a statement from the president, the two discussed security guarantees, increased pressure on Russia, joint weapon production projects, and prospects of Ukraine getting more Patriot air defense systems.
“We talked about different vectors of cooperation—how to achieve a real peace and guarantee Ukraine’s security,” Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post.
“These are separate projects under the PURL [Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List] initiative for financing production and Patriot procurement, and strong bilateral agreements on co-producing drones and weapons that we have proposed to America.”
Zelenskyy added that he and Kellogg also discussed efforts to return Ukrainian children abducted by Russia and to impose additional sanctions on Moscow.
“We held substantive talks on how to increase pressure on the Russians and what we can do together with our partners in tariff-sanctions policy, so that we can meet at the leadership level as soon as possible and end this war,” he said.
The president expressed condolences over the assassination of right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk and thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his response to the murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska. He also said he and Kellogg reviewed coordination efforts between Ukraine and the United States as part of the “coalition of the willing” and are planning potential follow-up meetings in various formats.
