Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a “very good conversation” with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, discussing next steps toward achieving peace on Aug. 7.
Zelenskyy noted that during the conversation, they shared details of their recent contacts with other world leaders. He emphasized that it is important for Ukraine that its partners — particularly in Europe — are informed about the situation. In particular, Zelenskyy added: “We all want a defined and secure future for Europe,” and recalled that Meloni supports the idea of involving European leaders, together with the United States, in the peace process.
The President also announced that both sides have already coordinated further steps, including contacts with U.S. President Donald Trump, and agreed to stay in touch.
