President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on national TV on Sept. 7 that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction has “improved” over the past few days, but definitive conclusions can only be drawn once it stabilizes.

He added that fighting in the Pokrovsk direction remains challenging, although the situation had improved a few days before he left for the Ramstein meeting and the Ambrosetti Forum in Italy.

“We discussed all these details three times with Syrcyn, so I don’t want to speak prematurely. Once everything stabilizes there, we will discuss it,” Zelenskyy said.

Fighting in the Pokrovsk area

On Sept. 2, DeepState reported that the occupiers were attempting to flank Vuhledar and had entered two villages. They also captured Dolynivka and advanced near Makiivka and Toretsk.

On Sept. 4, the Institute for the Study of War reported that the occupiers had likely taken the village of Halitsynivka and the city of Novohrodivka. Prior to this, the 59th Brigade confirmed the withdrawal from Novohrodivka.

Later, DeepState clarified that Russian aggressor forces had advanced in the Toretsk direction and near Vuhledar (Vremivka direction).

On Sept. 7, analysts reported that Russian invaders had managed to advance in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk Oblast. According to analysts, the enemy’s advance was recorded in the city of Ukrainsk in the Selidivka community of Pokrovsk district, located approximately 30 kilometers from the district center.
