Zelenskyy orders increased funding for troops on key front lines

He made the statement in his evening address after a visit to field HQs in eastern Ukraine. The extra resources will focus on units “doing important work, destroying the enemy and protecting Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Dobropillia.”
He toured or met with troops of the following formations:
- 1st National Guard Corps;
- 4th Operational Purpose Brigade, National Guard of Ukraine (NGU);
- 7th Rapid Reaction Corps, Ukrainian Air Assault Forces;
- 25th Separate Airborne Brigade;
- 414th Separate Strike Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Brigade.
Zelenskyy also reiterated the need to ramp up drone production and procurement.
“We need more drones of all types and true independence in drone manufacturing—our own autonomy and reliable partners for Ukraine,” he said.
He added that new contracts for weapons and vehicles are in the works, along with proposals to streamline procurement procedures.
“I ordered increased funding for corps on key axes and discussed it with the command,” Zelenskyy summarized.
On Oct. 31, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) launched a counteroffensive operation in Pokrovsk. Public broadcaster Suspilne said HUR units entered areas Russian generals had declared captured.
Reuters reported that small Special Operations Forces units landed in Pokrovsk by Black Hawk helicopters under the personal command of HUR chief Kyrylo Budanov.
