Zelenskyy orders push with allies after team details what was said in U.S. talks

Zelenskyy said he instructed the team to intensify work with partners to ensure diplomacy delivers concrete outcomes, including progress on humanitarian issues.

“The team reported on what was really said in Florida: the priorities, the opportunities and the difficulties. The most important task is to develop security guarantees in a way that brings us closer to ending the war. Security is the key to peace,” Zelenskyy said in a post on Telegram.

He published a photo from a meeting with head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov, his first deputy Serhii Kyslytsia and National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

He said the delegation had been instructed to step up engagement with partners.

“To ensure diplomacy is meaningful and that humanitarian issues are addressed, including prisoner-of-war exchanges,” Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian delegation will also brief European and Canadian partners on the results of the March 21–22 meetings in Florida, he added.

Zelenskyy said that as the briefing was taking place, Russia launched another wave of Shahed drones against Ukraine.

“Russia continues this war and destabilization in Europe, supports the Iranian regime with intelligence, thereby prolonging the war in that region, and is preparing for new conflicts in the coming years. This threat of constant war across different regions must be stopped,” he said.

Only joint action by the United States, Europe and other global actors can achieve this, Zelenskyy said.

“Meetings at the level of leaders are needed to truly resolve everything,” he added.

On March 22, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov said Ukrainian and U.S. delegations focused during two days of talks in Florida on security guarantees and humanitarian issues, including exchanges and the return of Ukrainian citizens.

“We are seeing progress in aligning positions and narrowing the range of unresolved issues,” Umerov said.

Zelenskyy said the meetings also produced signals that exchanges could continue and that discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe would advance.
