President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced a meeting with the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada and MPs from the Servant of the People ruling party in his Telegram post, published on Nov. 18.

This step marks political response to the biggest corruption scandal of the war, with NABU investigators probing a high-level Energoatom kickback scheme and insiders openly speculating whether Presidential Office head Andrii Yermak could eventually receive a notice of suspicion.

He said he instructed that a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff be prepared for Nov. 20.

This week will include “relevant conversations” with government officials and a meeting with the Rada leadership and Servant of the People lawmakers.

“I am preparing several necessary legislative initiatives and swift, principled decisions that our state needs,” Zelenskyy added.

The president’s meeting with Servant of the People was supposed to take place back in early October but was postponed at the request of faction head Davyd Arakhamia.

On Nov. 16, Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on reforming and rebooting the management of the energy sector and related institutions.

He said that, first of all, he had instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to submit to parliament a draft bill to renew the composition of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities.

The president also stressed the need to update the leadership of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate.
