European Solidarity co-chair Iryna Herashchenko described the two-hour-long meeting as “not easy,” noting it was the longest one compared to Zelenskyy’s conversations with other political opposition leaders.
“It was about matters of war and peace, about cooperation between branches of government...,” Herashchenko told TV Kyiv on May 27.
“We welcome the start of this dialogue.”
Some details of the discussion, which she described as “not easy, given the difficult relations between Poroshenko and Zelenskyy,” remain private, she added.
On May 26, Zelensky held a series of separate
meetings with parliamentary party leaders, including Yulia Tymoshenko of
Batkivshchyna; Oleksandra Ustinova of Holos; Yuriy Boyko of the Platform for
Life and Peace group; and Dmytro Razumkov of the Reasonable Politics faction.
