Ukraine has sent proposals for further talks to U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Oct. 13.

“Our team sent the American side proposals for possible future meetings and discussions,” Zelenskyy said in his evening address.

“We are ready to meet in the coming days, and I conveyed this proposal to Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.”

He said Ukrainian and U.S. officials continue to communicate and seek paths toward peace.

“We must work for peace and seek options for the right course of action,” the president added.

“Ukraine is ready for meetings. Ukraine supported the American president on an energy cease-fire. Russia must also be part of this agreement.”

Zelenskyy reiterated that Ukraine remains constructive and that “our positions are always absolutely clear and aimed at protecting the independence of the Ukrainian people.”
