The publication reported that journalists at the Budapest summit did not see Zelenskyy's speech. It noted that Zelenskyy spoke second, following Hungarian PM Viktor Orban. Following the Ukrainian president, French President Emmanuel Macron took the stage.
A journalist from the outlet claimed that while the speeches by Orban and Macron were shown, Zelenskyy's was not.
An event organizer from Hungary stated that Zelenskyy's speech was not public but that footage was given to the president's team. Journalists were encouraged to contact Zelenskyy's team to obtain the video.
Ukrainian officials stated they did not request to drop Zelenskyy's address from the broadcast.
“The president's speeches are always public if the event format allows,” a statement from the Ukrainian side read.
“We made no requests to withhold or not broadcast the speech.”
