Zelenskyy sanctions 5 individuals for spreading anti-Ukrainian propaganda

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted a July 20 decision by the National Security and Defense Council to impose personal special economic and other restrictive measures against several individuals accused of aiding Russian propaganda or aggression.

The sanctioned individuals include:

• Tatyana Aksyonenko, a Russian national described as a “military commander”;

• Natalia Korolevska, a Ukrainian citizen who served as Minister of Social Policy under ex-President Viktor Yanukovych and was a lawmaker with both the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc and later the pro-Russian Opposition Platform — For Life (OPZZh);

• Hennadiy Balashov, a Ukrainian businessman, former lawmaker, leader of the “5.10” political party, and a 2019 presidential candidate;

• Yulia Latynina, a Russian journalist and blogger who has publicly supported Moscow’s war against Ukraine;

• Andriy Serebryansky, a Ukrainian blogger and former TV host from Luhansk.

According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, those listed have disseminated narratives aligned with Kremlin propaganda.

Sanctions include asset freezes, bans on the use of property, restrictions on economic activity, and other measures designed to prevent these individuals from influencing Ukraine’s information and economic space.
