Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he held talks with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron on Dec. 1.

“We talked with Emmanuel for several hours. We managed to assess a lot of details,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.

The Ukrainian President said they focused primarily on talks to end the war and, in particular, on security guarantees.

“Peace must be truly reliable. The war must end as soon as possible. Much now depends on the activity of each leader,” Zelenskyy stressed.

He added that today, Dec. 1, he will also speak with leaders of other countries.

On Dec. 1, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris together with First Lady Olena Zelenska. As Suspilne reported, after a one-on-one meeting with Macron, Zelenskyy will visit the production facilities of the French aerospace company Dassault Aviation.

Axios also reported that NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov will meet with Zelenskyy in Paris on Dec. 1 to provide him with a detailed report on talks with the U.S. delegation in Florida on Nov. 30.

The day before, the Ukrainian president said peace talks in the United States were constructive and aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s sovereignty and protecting its national interests.
