The Ukrainian military is moving forward in the Donetsk sector of the front, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram on Sept. 27 after a meeting with senior military commanders.

During the meeting, the president received reports on the situation at the front, the supply of equipment and ammunition, and intelligence data.

"We have progress on the Donetsk axis," Zelenskyy said.

“There are other plans that are being implemented,” he added.

He was also briefed on the situation in Kherson Oblast, where Russians have dropped 26 guided bombs over the past day. The Ukrainian leader instructed the military "to find additional solutions to stop this terror."

In the morning, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that the Russians had failed in their attempts to advance on the Bakhmut, Kupyansk, and Lyman sections of the front, had also made unsuccessful attempts near Maryinka,a nd that their attacks in the vicinity of Avdiyivka had been repelled.

Ukrainian forces are also continuing their offensive toward the city of Melitopol. Against the backdrop of Russia’s statements about a Ukrainian Armed Forces' assault on the Robotyne-Verbove section in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi announced "good news" from the Tavria section of the front on Sept. 27.

Ukraine is maintaining tight operational secrecy regarding its counter-offensive, with little information about the current state of the fighting being given to the press.

The armed forces typically confirm the liberation of a settlement two or three days after the event.
