According to the president, Ukraine’s air defenses are finally getting stronger after months of pleading for additional assistance.
“I thank Germany for the [third] Patriot system, which is already in Ukraine,” said Zelenskyy.
“This is great news. I also thank the United States for another step in strengthening our air defense and our Patriot systems [by funding additional AA ammunition]. We will continue working [on the issue], and new decisions will follow.”
Previously, Germany’s Ambassador in Kyiv, Martin Jäger, said that the third German-supplied Patriot air defense had arrived in Ukraine.
On July 3, the U.S. Department of Defense announced $2.2 billion in additional funding to procure Patriot and NASAMS interceptor missiles for Ukraine.
