President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine has experience unblocking the Black Sea grain corridor and is ready to share it, in an interview with Associated Press on Apr. 5.

“We had a similar problem when Russia blocked our food corridor in the Black Sea. They used a wide range of means to block it — not only warships, but also helicopters, missiles, fighter jets and more,” he said.

However, Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine destroyed part of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet and forced the enemy to retreat from the corridor.

“Then we organized convoys for civilian vessels using naval drones to counter Russian helicopters and other offensive assets,” the president recalled.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the food corridor is now under Ukraine’s control and is operating.

“We can share this experience with other countries, but no one has asked us to come and help with the Strait of Hormuz,” Zelenskyy said, adding that partners have only asked Ukraine to share its experience.

On March 31, The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. President Donald Trump is prepared to end the war against Iran even if the currently blocked Strait of Hormuz is not fully reopened.

According to U.S. intelligence, Tehran is unlikely to agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in the near future.

On April 4, Trump said Iran had 48 hours left to reach an agreement with the United States.

“Remember when I gave Iran 10 days to make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Time is running out — 48 hours before all hell breaks loose,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
