The AI assistant Gemini Live, which can handle simple tasks with Google apps and engage in natural language conversations, now supports Ukrainian, Google wrote in its blog on Nov. 21.

Google recently announced that Gemini Live will support 40 additional languages, including Ukrainian.

“Starting today and over the coming weeks, we’re expanding Gemini Live on Android phones to include the Ukrainian language, allowing more people to communicate, collaborate, and experience conversational AI in their native language. In the coming weeks, we’ll also extend Gemini Live access to iOS devices… Furthermore, Gemini will soon connect with more Google apps in Ukrainian,” stated Google in a blog post.

Gemini Live supports two languages simultaneously. To switch to or add Ukrainian, users need to open the Google app, tap their profile icon, go to Settings > Gemini > Languages. Google notes that the rollout of new language support is gradual, meaning some users may experience delays in accessing certain languages.

Gemini Live — Features of the AI Assistant

Gemini Live facilitates live, natural conversations, allowing interruptions or requests to delve deeper into specific topics. The assistant can generate ideas, provide advice, help with planning, broaden perspectives, and more.

With the integration of Extensions, Gemini Live can now perform tasks using Google services on behalf of the user. For example, with Gemini Extensions, users can request a recipe found in Gmail and add the ingredients to their shopping list in Keep.
