Ukrainian air defense intercepts 11 out of 14 launched drones in overnight Russian attack

Invading Russian forces launched 14 Iranian-made Shahed suicide drones against Ukraine overnight on Feb. 26, the Ukrainian General Staff reported in their morning update on Facebook on Feb. 27. 11 of the launched drones were intercepted.
"Overnight, from 11:00 p.m. and until morning, Russian occupiers used 14Shahed attack UAVs to launch against Ukraine,” the General Staff stated.
“Preliminarily, 11 of them were downed by Ukrainian defenders.”
Explosions were heard in Kyiv itself as well as Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts, reportedly as a result of active air defense.
According to Air Force Command, the drones were launched from the northerly direction.
A number of the drones struck the city of Khmelnytskyi. Three explosions were recorded in the city.
