The meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine on June 15 in Brussels will bring together representatives of the defense departments of about 50 countries, the U.S. representative to NATO, Ambassador Julianne Smith, said on June 13.
“On Wednesday (June 15), the United States is hosting a meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group, which will bring together representatives from about 50 countries that are providing support to Ukraine,” Smith said.
She said that the “Ramstein format” meeting would take place at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
She said that in particular, the current situation on the battlefields in Ukraine was to be discussed.
The participants will discuss “what additional military assistance they can provide to Ukraine in the near and medium-term, as well as in the future” to help it secure victory in this war, she said.
“Ramstein format” meetings are so-called because the first such meeting was held at Ramstein U.S. Air Base in Germany on April 26. The second meeting of the contact group regarding the defense of Ukraine took place on May 23.
The meeting was attended by 44 defense ministers, including Ukrainian Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov, and his team, as well as representatives of the European Union and NATO
